Summary

Tustin Energy Solutions, LLC is a HVAC building automation division of The Tustin Group, that specializes in non-proprietary web-based building control products. We use these products primarily in existing buildings. Tustin Energy Solutions is an “integrated solutions provider” that can many times reuse the existing building control systems without the need for complete replacement.

Our services provide increased control, reduction in energy consumption, opportunities for revenue generation, and prepare the end user for the Smart Grid. We provide solutions and resources that help our customers make educated decisions for their energy needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and service building automation systems.
  • Installations will include work with line voltage wiring, low voltage wiring, unitary HVAC controllers, actuators, relays, sensors, and end devices.
  • Responsible for programming of unitary controllers, area controllers, and web-based applications.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and general servicing of systems.
  • Ability to understand and interpret the sequence of operation for basic HVAC systems (CAV, VAV, Multi-zone, etc.).
  • Be punctual in reporting to all assigned shifts and work sites.
  • Must possess good communication skills and ability to keep the customer informed of work provided and any outstanding issues.
  • Be positive and professional when interacting with clients to ensure high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for making recommendations to customers for upgrades, repairs, and system improvements.
  • Ability to train end-users on operation of BAS.
  • Ability to work an on-call rotation schedule.
  • Timely submission of daily paperwork and service reports.
  • Interact with IT professionals regarding web deployment. Knowledge of user interfaces, data servers, IP networking devices, protocols, routers, switches, and hubs.
  • Other duties related to the commissioning and servicing of building controls systems

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of HVAC BAS systems
  • Vocational or Associate Degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, or similar field preferred.
  • Knowledge of low voltage power, communication, and network wiring practices
  • Knowledge of the following systems is preferred:
  • Niagara N4, AX and Sedona Platforms
  • American Auto-MatrixPUP protocols
  • Knowledge of Honeywell Spyder product line
  • BACnet, LON, and Modbus protocols
  • Additional knowledge of the following systems is a plus:
  • Carrier CCN/i-Vu products
  • Johnson ControlsN2 protocol
  • Must have a valid driver's license with good driving record in order to drive a company issued vehicle.

Physical Demands:

  • Work is mostly performed in an outdoor setting with some tasks in an office environment.
  • Hand-eye Coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to stand and talk or hear, walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work heights.
  • Occasionally lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

  • Normally works in outside weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, and in high, precarious places.
  • Exposure to wet and humid conditions, airborne particles and confined spaces.
